All of Lancaster County's major highways (US Routes 30 and 222 and PA Routes 462, 283, 501, 272 and 23) meet in Lancaster City with the exception of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76), which travels in an east-west direction through northern Lancaster County.
